WHO WE ARE
Welcome Ministry of El Cajon/East County, Inc. is an ecumenical outreach of worship, mercy, and justice to the immigrant, refugees and unsheltered of the East County community of San Diego County, California.
Welcome Ministry EC (El Cajon/East County) began in 2016 as an ecumenical outreach ministry to persons living without benefit of shelter or housing in El Cajon (East San Diego County), California. In early 2019 Welcome Ministry, WMEC, expanded its outreach to include refugee ministry, Joy Force.
WMEC’s current outreached include:
- Twice-monthly food pantry (1st and 3rd Tues) 9:15 AM, and English/Arabic Mass 8:30 AM (just before food pantry)
at St. Alban’s, 490 Farragut Circle, El Cajon - ‘Loads of Love’ laundry ministry for homeless, those transitioning from the street, and those in programs helping them avoid homelessness; call Mondays (619-212-6073) for Tues appointment
- Advocacy for under-served and homeless families
- ‘Table Talk’ Conversation group for English-learners; Wed 10 AM
at St. Alban’s, 490 Farragut Circle, El Cajon - ‘Welcome Church’; a church without walls, meeting in various locations. (Call 619-212-6073 for current locations.) Worship service includes communion, and distribution of ‘Protein Packs’ provided by 1st Presbyterian Church of El Cajon.
